Want to learn bellydance in southern Sydney? This is our newest location, and we are so excited to be bringing our popular, tried and trusted belly dance format to "The Shire".

Belly Dancing is a gentle form of exercise that improves core strength, co-ordination, and even mood and self-image. It's enjoyed by women all over the world, regardless of age, fitness level, or cultural background.
Everyone who takes this class adores the instructor Laura! She is a warm and friendly teacher, and her classes are well structured, accessible and fun. You'll learn lots, and enjoy yourself too.
6.45pm Wednesdays: Fundamentals
This class is for absolute beginners or those with less than a year's bellydance class experience. It's also perfect for women who have danced socially but never taken formal classes.
Master all the key moves and building blocks of belly dance, such as shimmies, hip circles and more. Then explore how we combine moves into short sequences, and learn to "freestyle" dance. In Term 2 we will put it all together into a routine and you'll even have the chance to perform if you wish. Develop not only your co-ordination, but also memory, spatial awareness and more. If you already dance, you'll gain more control, grace, nuance and body awareness.

7.45pm Wednesdays: Beyond Beginners
For students with at least a few terms of bellydance experience, who are confident with the basics and want to challenge themselves. Contact us to assess your level.
Each term has a different topic, such as more complex technique; props such as sword or cane (assaya); folkloric styles; musical interpretation and more. In Term 1 of 2021, you can discover the fun of Egyptian Shaabi: a modern street style with loads of sass!
Classes are held on Wednesday evenings at Genisys Gym, 545 Kingsway, Miranda. Classes are also live-streamed on Zoom so you can attend from home.
