Terms and conditions of enrolment

Please read this document carefully. It contains important information about enrolling and participating in Bellydance and Fitness classes with Inspire Bellydance.

Conditions of Enrolment

All classes are subject to a minimum number of students; if a enrolments don't meet this minimum number, the class may be cancelled. In this instance you will be offered a full refund or the option to change to a different time or class type. Inspire! Bellydance reserves the right to change or alter classes, provide an alternative teacher if the scheduled teacher is unavailable, or switch a class to an online-only format if required by Public Health rules.

Enrolment is based on a term (usually a block of 10 weeks). Exceptions can be made only in special circumstances by consultation in advance. Payment in full is required on or by the date of the first class of term; your place is not confirmed until payment is processed. Your class pass is then valid for the duration of the term only. Class credits are not transferrable across terms.

You can only book for yourself. Each individual must checkout for themself, ensuring they agree to these T&Cs and give appropriate contact details and health info. Discounts cannot be combined across multiple students or terms.

If you are unable to attend a class for which you are enrolled, please advise us by email. You may make the class up by attending another appropriate class at a different time within the same term, or via a recording if available. Online classes may be taken to make up for studio classes, but not vice versa.

Refund Policy

Our Refund Policy is in accordance with the policies set out by the NSW Office of Fair Trading.

Please choose carefully. We do not give refunds.

In particular, please note there are no refunds if you:

  • change your mind or make a wrong decision

  • are unable to set up a suitable space, device or internet connection for an online class

  • do not attend classes for any reason outside the control of Inspire Bellydance (such as your work or family commitments, lack of transport, holidays, illness, injury etc)

We offer plenty of catch-up options, including taking classes at alternative venues, learning online, or by streaming the recordings.

If you experience serious unforeseen medical or other circumstances that will prevent you from attending class for a significant portion of the term, advise us as soon as practicable. Refunds are not given, but partial transfer of credit to a later term may be possible. Credits will be applied only from the date when you advise us of the circumstances, and cannot be back-dated. A medical certificate from a qualified practitioner may be required.

If you are incapacitated and permanently unable to continue with classes, you must advise us as soon as possible. A medical certificate from a qualified practitioner, certifying that you are permanently unable to continue, may entitle you to a pro-rata refund on the remaining classes from the date when you notify us.

Your class pass is valid for the duration of the term only. Class credits are not transferrable across terms.

If you are unable to attend a class for which you are enrolled, please advise your teacher by text message or email. You may make the class up by attending another appropriate class at a different time within the same term, or via a recording if available. Online classes may be taken to make up for studio classes, but not vice versa.

For online classes:

In any online (live-streaming) classes, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have a suitable device, internet connection and space to participate in classes. Here’s info to help you.

Classes are live-streamed and must be attended at the appointed time. We will make every attempt to record them but cannot guarantee this, and strongly encourage attending in real time.

You agree not to share class login information, or record or distribute content to others who are not enrolled in the class.

It is your responsibility to:

  • Ensure adequate internet access and suitable devices, and install Zoom software.

  • Set up a safe dance space, with appropriate flooring and enough space to move comfortably.

  • Make sure we can see you! Set your camera up so that your whole body is visible on camera, and use suitable lighting and clothing so that your instructor can give you feedback.

If you choose not to or unable to use a camera, we cannot give you feedback.

For hybrid classes (that is, Zoom classes streamed from a studio with students present live as well), we cannot guarantee a high quality internet connection, audiovisual quality, or interaction and feedback opportunities. For this reason, these classes are offered at a discounted rate.

For studio classes:

Where studio classes are also live-streamed on Zoom, participants agree that there is a possibility their image will appear incidentally on screen for Zoom participants. Please advise us if this is a concern for you.

No spectators or non-participants are permitted to attend the studio. This includes children. Childcare services are not available.

In accordance with our Covid-Safe Business plan, participants must:

  • not attend class if feeling unwell or showing symptoms; leave if asked

  • notify us if you or anyone in your household is diagnosed with Covid-19 or advised to isolate

In these situations, please advise us, and take the class online instead, or via recordings.

Fitness and Health Information

For most people, dancing is a fun and safe form of exercise. However, Inspire Bellydance cannot take any responsibility for your health and fitness, especially when you undertake a remote class. We recommend the following precautions:

  • The ‘warm up’ at the start and the ‘cool down’ at the end of class are compulsory. These are important and are designed to prevent injury; failure to attend them is at your own risk. Make sure you come to class on time so you can participate!

  • Always bring a water bottle, and drink plenty of water during and after exercise.

  • If you have a pre-existing injury, a heart condition, or if you are or become pregnant, you should consult your doctor for professional advice before beginning or continuing classes. This does not prevent you from participating, but please inform your teacher of the condition and of your doctor’s advice.

  • Always move within your normal range of movement. Keep to your own pace and level, and if you are completely new to an activity, take it very carefully. The instructor will give options for any difficult movements – choose the easier when you start. Opt for smaller movements as you begin, and always keep your movements controlled and not forced.

  • Learn to feel the difference between the sensation of muscles working or stretching, and pain. STOP what you’re doing immediately if something hurts, and notify the instructor. Persistent pain should always be reported to the instructor or to your GP if necessary. Remember though, it is quite normal to experience some general aches after you embark on a new activity, or if you have had a long break.

  • Children are the responsibility of their accompanying adult.

If you did not understand any of this document, please contact us so we can explain it to you. We know it's really technical and boring, but it's important.
