Bellydance Intermediate/ Advanced Level: Hot Cairo Combos

Contemporary Bellydance in Cairo is HOT! Let’s look at the dancers sharing their shows online, and unpack their favourite moves and combos, all set to the most popular tracks in Egypt right now. Challenge your technique, speed and transitions, as well as musical interpretation and styling.

Plus, we’ll keep practising our Term 1 Drum Solo to be ready for future performances.

LEVEL: This more advanced class is open by invitation only, for dancers who have consistently attended class and practised for at least 2 years. Confidence with all Fundamentals and BBs techniques, ability to learn and retain combinations, developing understanding of Middle Eastern music, readiness to dive deeper. In general you should always get in touch before registering for this class if you’re not already a regular.

Please note, the course also runs on the public holiday Mondays 27 April and 8 June; otherwise our Chatswood dancers miss out too much compared to all other locations! Plan ahead if you’ll be away, so you can join us on Zoom instead.

Pricing: $195 / 11wks per person for a place in the studio.

A discounted Zoom option is available. The Zoom class is run from the studio, in conjunction with our live class. Think of the laptop as just another student in the group! This means recordings are available for you on demand, for catch-up or revision.

Intermediate classes are suitable for dancers with at least 2 years’ class experience, who are confident with all the Fundamentals and Beyond Beginners moves as well as numerous cultural styles in Oriental Dance. You should be comfortable with learning choreography quickly and practising on your own in between classes, as well as thirsty to continually learn more and improve your skills and repertoire.
Performance is not required, but if you’re keen, you’ll be ready to make a costume to match the rest of the group and practise lots so you can do each other proud next time we step out on stage!
