Dramatic candelabra balancing, stunning groups of dancers, and lively accompaniment from an Arabic drummer in themed costume can all be added on if you want to go beyond the standard performance and make it extra memorable.

For that extra special touch, the Christmas party performance can even be done in a red-and-white costume reminiscent of Santa Claus, complete with santa hat and “sleigh bells” (finger cymbals). Or tell us your theme so we can select the perfect music and costume.

Whether it’s in a big function hall, a restaurant, or your backyard; your party will have an extra touch of class when you hire a professional performer.

In a less formal context or at a dinner function, the show can involve audience participation, helping to break the ice and encourage attendees to become more responsive and involved. For cocktail events, belly dancers make great roving performers too.

Choose from traditional entrances such as a zaffet (with or without shamadan / candelabra), or modern style entrances with “wings”. Live music or drummers can be brought in to complement the show for maximum effect.

Children appreciate the colour and vivacity of dance: they love the sparkling costumes, enjoy the rhythmic music, and love learning new things. A belly dancing lesson for kids uses games, competitions, pair work and group work to introduce them to some fun basic moves with evocative names. At the same time, they learn a little about the culture of another land. The performance component shows them what it really looks like, and allows everyone to have a turn at showing off their new skills. Meanwhile, you get to sit back, relax and enjoy the party – that is, if you can resist joining in, too! Suitable for children (girls and boys) aged 7 and up.

Rachel is an experienced and reliable teacher and has a Working With Children Check. She will create a lesson/performance especially for your party, with attention to the appropriate style of teaching for the age group. Colourful, jingly hip scarves and other accessories for all the participants (for hire or purchase), add an element of fancy dress costuming to bring the theme to life even more.

What could be more suitable for an all-girl party than a Bellydance lesson or performance?

A Bellydance performance brings colour and exotic spice to your party. It’s the perfect solution for bridesmaids looking for ideas for a dear girlfriend’s hens’ party – and yes, it can be a surprise! The bride-to-be will be made to feel special, and might even learn a few moves that will come in handy! You are sure to fall in love with the elaborate costuming.

For the more adventurous, a Belly Dancing lesson might be just the thing to keep all the girls entertained at your hens’ party. You will see a short performance, then be dressed up with jingling hip scarves, learn some moves and put them into a short choreography. Guaranteed to make you feel sensual and feminine, the lesson will have everyone strutting and shimmying like Shakira in no time. Or if you’re from or marrying into the culture, we can focus on moves and music that you’re likely to dance to at the wedding.

We may even be able to help with dance studio hire if you don’t have a suitable venue, though we are happy to come to your home, a private room in a restaurant, or an apartment that you’re renting for the party.
